MBE for Evolve Managing Director, Leanne Bonner-Cooke

It is with great pleasure and pride that we would like to announce that Managing Director and founder of Evolve-IT Consulting Ltd, Leanne Bonner-Cooke, is to be awarded with an MBE for her services to women in business.

Back in November, Leanne received an official letter from the Home Office on behalf of the Prime Minister, informing her that she had been put forward for the accolade as part of the New Year Honours List 2018. Leanne has been both thrilled and humbled by the announcement which will see her collecting her MBE hopefully from The Queen, in the next few months.

The news was broken to her by Leanne’s father, Roger, who had opened the post delivered on her behalf whilst Leanne and her husband Tom were away. Too excited to await their return, Roger got straight on the phone to tell Leanne the news, but she was hesitant to believe it until she could see the letter with her own eyes.

Having received many awards in the past, Leanne is not unfamiliar with the process, but news of an MBE has been the biggest surprise of them all. Leanne said:

“My husband and I were on holiday in Bali when we got the news, which was a welcome distraction as the volcano there was causing huge problems at the time – we thought we were going to be stuck there for a while! My Father sent me a message telling me I’d had a letter from the Home Office and a picture of the contents; I was thrilled with the news and had no idea I had been put forward, I couldn’t quite believe it.”

Services to Women in Business is something Leanne is extremely passionate about, as a woman leading a technology business which provides software solutions and professional services to blue chip corporations across multiple industries. Always putting the customer at the heart of everything they do, the Evolve team are led closely by Leanne as a hands-on MD who always strives to make a difference and deliver outstanding products and services.

The news of an MBE for 2018 isn’t the only headline for the Software Developer based in Leicester, as Leanne plans to break away Evolve’s rebate management software solution, ‘e-Bate’, into a stand-alone business and is already looking for investment:

“We’ve done lots of research into the rebate space and we know there is a huge opportunity there. Nearly all large corporations have rebate deals between themselves and their suppliers, but we know there’s billions of pounds not being accounted for or claimed, through poor rebate management. e-Bate is an end-to-end rebate management solution that can recover and save our customers a lot of money. In fact, we believe they will see returns within the first 6 months. We think e-Bate has huge potential not just in our target markets, but far, far wider.”

Leanne has also been listed in the 2017 ‘BusinessCloud 101 Female Founders of Tech’, another fantastic piece of news for the business owner. (http://www.businesscloud.co.uk/news/female-founders-of-tech-from-adelman-to-cummings )

The New Year Honours have been presented to individuals for outstanding service to the community for over 127 years, Leanne shares her pride at receiving the award:

“I am very proud to be receiving an MBE; it feels surreal! I cannot wait to attend the ceremony and hopefully meet Her Majesty the Queen. This is definitely both my career and lifetime highlight.

Pictures of Leanne receiving her MBE will be shared soon after the ceremony.
