Evolve CEO attends investiture for MBE for Services to Women in Business

The big day of collecting her most prized award finally came to Evolve CEO, Leanne Bonner-Cooke on Wednesday 9th May 2018:

Leanne found out she had been put forward to receive an MBE for Services to Women in Business as part of the New Year Honours List 2018. Then just a few weeks ago she was notified that she would be receiving her investiture at Buckingham Palace with Anne, Princess Royal.

Leanne attended The Palace with her proud husband Tom and parents Roger and Valerie, alongside others receiving recognition, from charity pioneers to servicemen and women. The day started at 9.30am and continued into early afternoon as worthy recipients were individually addressed by Princess Royal.

Leanne reflected, “Princess Anne was really lovely, we chatted for a good five minutes about the importance of women in business and how it’s imperative we encourage young people; boys and girls, into STEM subjects to ensure our future tech leaders.”

Heading up her software development business, Evolve-IT Consulting Ltd, Leanne Bonner-Cooke has been championing women in technology since the launch of her business in 2007 in a space that traditionally sees few women leaders. Her MBE for services to women in business highlights Leanne’s dedication in making her business a success and in promoting the technology industry to young women who might be thinking of a career in tech.

Leanne is all smiles as she leaves Buckingham Palace with her MBE

Leanne’s business, Evolve-IT Consulting provides software solutions and professional services to blue chip corporations across multiple industries. Evolve specialise in working with businesses in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, Manufacturing and Retail sectors and have customers across the UK and internationally. The business is itself also award-winning, having scooped multiple trophies including SME Growth, Business Innovation and International Business of the Year awards.

After the investiture, Leanne and her family made the most of their special day with lunch at The Ritz and a show in the West End before heading back to work the following day.

I am so honoured to have received an MBE, I am still in shock and would love to know who nominated me for it! The experience was out of this world and I will never forget it. Just being able to go into the Palace was amazing, it was a once in a lifetime moment.”
